First Notes of the New Year!

These Garden Place students are among the 600 children who will participate in El Sistema Colorado programs in the 2014 – 2015 school year. 180 students will participate in the in-school program at Garden Place Elementary, while 240 have just begun classes at Swansea Elementary. Early Childhood Education students will receive music enrichment and all Kindergarten and First Grader students at Garden Place and Swansea Elementary started violin classes this week.
The Garden Place after-school program also kicked off this week serving 2nd through 5th graders Monday- Thursday for from 3:30 – 6:00 pm. Next week El Sistema Colorado will launch a brand new after-school program serving 30 students at Swansea Elementary.
At Bruce Randolph Middle High, El Sistema Colorado is partnering to offer 6th, 7th, and 8th grader Beginning Band elective classes, and 7th through 9th graders can be part of an intermediate band class. The After-school program at Bruce Randolph will begin over the next few weeks , and will include opportunities for students to participate in a performance ensemble and a drum line!
