Summer Camps are in Full Swing!

El Sistema Colorado’s free summer music camps are underway, and we are having a terrific time singing, playing instruments, reading, learning about teamwork, and having fun together! Students have the opportunity to participate in one, two, or all three sessions being offered, and over 90 young musicians have registered for our camps.

Session 1, which took place June 15-26, was about music inspired by nature. Camp concluded with a fantastic performance of Carnival of the Animals, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and The Lion Sleeps Tonight, among other outdoors-inspired pieces.

Session 2, July 6-17, will focus on the music and games of cultures throughout the world. Our Session 2 concert on July 18 at 10am will take the audience on a journey as we explore orchestral and choral music of Japan, Jamaica, Ireland, Israel, the Netherlands, and Venezuela!

During Session 3, July 20-31, we will embrace our heroic side, as we learn to play and sing themes from our favorite superhero movies and comics! Get excited to hear the sounds of Batman, Hercules, Spiderman, and a few other superhero surprises at our Session 3 concert on August 1 at 10am.

All summer concerts are at Bryant-Webster Elementary School, 3635 Quivas Street, Denver, CO 80211.
