Appreciation Concert at Valdez-Perry

As we enter the season of giving, we give thanks to the Valdez-Perry branch library for hosting our Appreciation Concert, and to the supporters who make this all possible. The Ambassadors, El Sistema Colorado’s extracurricular chamber orchestra, and Escape, El Sistema Colorado’s staff ensemble, performed for the public and several special guests. A heartfelt Thank You to all of you who joined us.

Seven guest musicians from around Denver, including artists from the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and the Baroque Chamber Orchestra, joined El Sistema Colorado students at Bruce Randolph School for a Halloween performance. The audience was treated to a showcase of creative costumes and haunting musical classics.

El Sistema Colorado Says Farewell to Megan Moran

El Sistema Colorado is sad to see our beloved Lead Teaching Artist Megan Moran’s departure from the program. Megan will return to her hometown in Oregon to continue her work of increasing access to music education for all young students. She has left our team at Garden Place Academy with a legacy of compassion and skill, and she will be missed by all students, staff, and families.
“You all welcomed me with open arms and I am so grateful to be a part of this family. I care deeply for each of you, and am grateful for all the knowledge, relationships, and joy that I’ve gained while working with El Sistema Colorado. I will be staying in the non-profit music/music education sector, helping students gain access where there is none, as well as staying connected to the Sistema field in general. I don’t take it for granted that this is one of the strongest and most dedicated teams I’ve ever worked with.”
— Megan Moran

Megan is leaving the leadership at Garden Place Elementary in the capable hands of longtime El Sistema Teaching Artist, Kyle Etges. He began his work as Lead Teaching Artist at Garden Place in April.
