Community Partnerships

El Sistema Colorado regularly partners with like-minded arts organizations in the community, from one-off performances to year-long mentorship programs. Past partners have included Colorado Symphony, Yo-Yo Ma, Denver Young Artist Orchestra, Museo de las Américas, Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado, and many more. ESC is also a founding member of the Alliance for Music Education Equity (AMEE) and regularly collaborates with the 14 other AMEE music organization members to collectively identify and implement actions to address diversity, equity and inclusivity in music education in Denver.

Because social justice is one of the pillars our mission is built upon, ESC regularly partners with diverse collaborators who help us carry out our mission of empowering students to find their voice, develop determination and celebrate their identity in a safe environment of belonging.  Developing our student's musical ability is just one facet of how we consider community partnerships.

Our Partners

Long-term mentoring partnerships with local professional orchestras, universities, and chamber ensembles are central to ESC’s programming. These collaborations open doors to the highest level of classical music for our wide range of young musicians.

Metro State University
El Sistema Colorado partners with Metro State University to connect students with the university’s music community through applied faculty engagements, School of Music tours, and shared concerts. ESC also hosts a music education practicum intern, providing hands-on experience for an emerging music educator while bringing new energy and perspective to our programs.

University of Colorado Boulder
El Sistema Colorado is developing a partnership with the University of Colorado Boulder to connect ESC students with the university’s musical and educational community, including masterclasses with applied faculty, special concert access, side-by-side performances, and campus/facilities tours. The partnership will expand opportunities for mentorship, artistic growth, and exploration of pathways in music and higher education.

Denver Philharmonic Orchestra
Through our partnership with the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, ESC students have the opportunity to perform in professional spaces and attend DPO’s extraordinarily student-friendly concerts for free. These experiences connect young musicians with Denver’s broader orchestral community and expand their experience as both performers and audience members.

Colorado Symphony Orchestra
The Colorado Symphony Orchestra connects ESC students with the world of professional orchestral musicians through lobby performances, masterclasses, and complimentary concert tickets. These experiences give students opportunities to perform for the Denver metro community, learn directly from professional musicians, and see the possibilities of a life in music.

Bravo! Vail
ESC’s partnership with Bravo! Vail connects students with a broader community of young musicians and professional artists through the Young Musicians Summit, Summer Strings Festival, and other festival-style collaborations. Together, these opportunities give students new experiences to learn, perform, and build relationships beyond Denver.

Northern Colorado Concert Band
The Northern Colorado Concert Band partners with ESC on performance and mentorship opportunities in both the fall and spring. These collaborations give young musicians the chance to perform in new settings, collaborate with wind players, and connect with musicians across generations and organizations.

Sphere Ensemble
Sphere Ensemble brings live chamber music directly into the early childhood experience through immersive performances for ESC’s youngest musicians. Students encounter professional musicians up close, fostering curiosity, connection, and a lifelong relationship with live music.

Rossini Club
Through our partnership with the Rossini Club, ESC students receive free tickets to concerts, participate in performance opportunities, and learn from professional musicians through side-by-side chamber masterclasses. The partnership connects young musicians and families with Denver’s broader chamber music community.
